CSC in the Bahamas: Working towards rehabilitative corrections

Safe and humane custody and assisting in the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders into the community are the fundamentals of Canada’s correctional system. Last year, that principle was front and center during a collaborative initiative between CSC and the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDCS).

A path to healing and reintegration: Videoconferencing in Nunavut

For offenders from Nunavut, maintaining a relationship with family members and friends is a lifelong challenge. Nunavut consists of roughly 25 small and remote Inuit communities that are only accessible by air. There is a lack of federal facilities in Nunavut and offenders often serve time in the South away from their communities and families.

CSC psychologist awarded the Order of Ontario

Queen’s University adjunct professor, clinical and correctional psychologist (Correctional Service of Canada) and mental health advocate Dorothy Cotton has been awarded the Order of Ontario, the highest citizen honour in the province.
